Getting a medical marijuana card was easier than I could have imagined, I already had my medical records after surgery on my spine in 2013 and I lived in Beecher about seven minutes away from the clinic. When I started the process I knew that I qualified but I didn’t know how to find a doctor that would certify me. After finding GreenWay Michigan on Google, I spoke with a representative who brought me up to speed with the process and scheduled me for an appointment on my day off. When I went to meet with the doctor he was friendly and attentive, he listened to me about my past history and even new the surgeon that performed my surgery. Because I was concerned about smoking, the doctor recommended that I look into edible products and tinctures; I was relieved. I started slow with small dosages and after about a week had my pain better under control than ever before. Medical marijuana really is as good as everyone says it is, I am glad I decided to get my card.

I was tired of using so many opiates, they made me lethargic and unmotivated. I wanted to continue to watch my granddaughter after school as she grew older but my doctor kept increasing the amount of medication which I needed to take daily. I knew I needed something to change so I decided to go ahead and get my medical marijuana card. Medical marijuana has allowed me to reduce my opiate use while managing my pain more effectively. My whole family can tell the difference, I am glad I decided to look into this.

I have thought about getting my medical marijuana card since the first year it was available. I asked my primary care doctor if he would consider helping me apply for the program the same year, he made me feel uncomfortable about it and said no. I found Greenway Michigan and was scheduled to meet with a doctor who respected me and my choices, I wish I would’ve started sooner but I’m glad I finally got my card.

I got my medical marijuana card in 2013 with another clinic that charged $300 to meet with the doctor. I have self medicated with marijuana for the better part of three decades and really just needed to renew my card. GreenWay Michigans website made it easy to connect to a new doctor, they were able to schedule me an appointment after work in Beecher and I was able to renew my card within a week.
